hi all ,we are in the process of trying to organise a trip to cotswold water parks ,the problem being our dog does not seem to be welcome in the parks or near by campsites ,we cant be the only people who want to visit and own a dog,so if you have visited and took a dog any tips would be great ,hes well behaved ,and now sad ,so come on make his day
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We have a book called "Pets Welcome", which lists loads of places where you can take your dog.It also has lists of kennels & catteries and other pet-based information.
Our 1998 copy is by FHG Publications, Abbey Mill Business Centre, Seedhill, Paisley PA1 1TJ, Tel: 0141-887 0428. We bought it in W H Smiths. Hope this is some help, It certainly has been to us. Good luck!!

cheers steve ,never thought a book like this even existed ,will pop to my local book shop and see if we can find a copy ,the mut looks happier already, many thanks
I know we have this prob and when u book make sure thast u ask where the dogs are allowed as we went to a lovely site in Lincolshire and they were great for the dogs whereas another site in Cornwall which we thought would be great for them as it was part of the same group was in fact diabolical. They say dog friendly but when it gets down to it most of them arent and have only really found 2 parks that are in the 2 yrs of camping which is a nightmare for the dogs as afterall its their holiday too.
Good luck and keep us informed - i know the AA does a dog friendly place to stay book we have it at home but cant remember what its called. Also you could try these links ive found for you http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1596http://www.bonesmailorder.com/ try putting in a search with UKCS im sure you will find something for your four legged friend

The best site I have visited which is very dog friendly is The Old Oaks at Glastonbury. It has a large enclosed dog walk area which even includes a dedicated "dog shower room". Certainly something I have used on my setter after it had tried to 'walk' on water when chasing the ducks. It is however an Adults only site.
If you want to see my photos of the site visit my webshots album:-
Yeah the old oaks is a wonderful site - went last yr with our 2 dogs, staff are lovely and helpful site soooooooooooo relaxing you wouldnt believe. Would definately recommend this site for people who havent got kids. The dog washing area is a great touch - makes it more special for the dog as well. Only prob we found was the foxes - like to come our at night and when theres just a piece of tent material between you and the animal its a bit unnerving but hoping to go back again this yr with the camper!!! The dogs certainly didnt want to come home and neither did i - nearly cried OH just laughed!!!
