We used to use this site as a stopover when using the Portsmouth ferries, the toilet blocks could do with a good refurbish and then kept that way, the sinks would be full of dead flies every morning and floors dirty. It could be a very nice site and as said previously it's location is nice.

Hi David,

Do a search for Chichester using the camp site search above. There are a few to choose from. Scotts and Nunnington farms in West wittering would be worth thinking about.

Thanks Jim. I had not thought of that and we have stayed there before. Funny how the obvious stares you! It is only about 30 minutes away. Also there are quite a few CL's in the area as well

Thanks

We've vowed not to go there again.

Being the only sote on the island, they seem to be resting on their laurels.

Last time we stayed there (aug bank hol a couple of years ago) one toilet block was closed due to vandalism. But surely hiring a couple of cubicles would have helped on the busiest weekend of the year?

The ground plays havoc with your pegs. Some neighbours complained about a couple of campers keeping everyone awake at 3am and nothing was done.

I think the static caravans are where the effort goes and the tourers are merely tolerated. Just like Waterside at Weymouth

hi linda, we stayed there as a stop over in 2004 ready for the islw of wight ferry the next day, site was a bit untidy as were the toilets and shower blocks. they cram as many vans in as they can so with an awning theres not alot of room although we didnt use ours as it was only for one night. But the worst thing was a rave on hayling island with really loud thumping music till 6.30am so no one on the site got any sleep what so ever  so just one thing to be aware of i would hate the same thing to happen to you as we were told that they have at least 2 a year there so we certainly wont be going back there the only thing going for it is its right by the beach and the food isnt too bad but apart from that wouldnt recomend to anyone.

It really is frustrating, the only sites in the area are Southsea, Hayling and Gosport none of which i would pay to stay on! Portsmouth and surrounding area's have so much to offer but there is no where decent to stay!
