Does anyone have any info about Abbey Wood?

Everything Ive read seems to be very good.  Weve got two young kjids and I think it would be an advernture to visist London.

Also is there easy access into central london? what sort of costs are involved?

thanks

I agree, everything I have read is very good indeed, and the people I have spoken to who have visited it all rave about it.

I have made some more reviews live now, including details of costs involved in getting into London etc, so you might find those useful

We stayed here several years ago before it was upgraded, so it should be even better now. Access is fairly straightforward from the M25. Given that it is in the middle of a residentual area it is very green with lots of tall trees. Public transport is available close by either by bus or train, the station is about 10 minutes away. London Dockland is quite near and the Dockland Light Railway makes a fascinating trip. Central London is about 30 minutes away by train.

Next time we visit London we will try the Abbey Wood site.  Last time we stayed at the CC Crystal Palace site and it was very good. Usual CC facilities and helpful wardens.  It is possibly a little nearer the centre, bus stop right across the road .  A very busy site but fairly quiet down where we were pitched.

Stayed at Abbeywood at October half term. Excellent site trains every 10 mins to central London with the ride taking approx 30 mins. Local bakers and off licence within 5 mins walk. BIG security gates locked shut at 11 pm although you are issued with a code to get in and plenty of security cameras.

Given the location just off M25 it wins hands down for me and I will got there every time. Family off peak travel pass 2 adults and 2 kids just £8.50 ish for the day for unlimited travel by rail underground Docklands Light railway and bus. Compare this to a single tube ticket for £3 when I was down last week.
