In my opinion, one of the best has got to be Adgestone - with two great play areas for the kids and a heated outdoor swimming pool. You can read reviews here....

It's a Camping and Caravanning Club Site and facilities are immaculate. It's a large park, but extremely well maintained. My parents are fussy devils and they have been twice with various members of the family and we are going again this summer.

Perfect for the kids - but if you are wanting a 'Haven' type resort then this is not the place for you.  Some fab things for the kids on the IOW too, don't miss Blackgang Chine! Our kids are 12,10 & 2.

We've booked 10 days in August school hols (during Cowes week!) and with hook-up, 2adults & 3 kids it's costing us £261.

Whitecliff Bay is also nice.  Good for families with entertainment etc.  Also there are 3 park resorts sites there for familieis as well.  I have been to all of these and they are all reasonable.  Park resorts this year works out at £250 for the week with EHU and includes the ferry and all park facilities.  Whitecliff costs £285 for the summer season and also includes the ferry with a trailer, EHU and all the enetrtainment etc but 20p for showers.

They are all fairly close to a beach.

Landguard camping is really good, and easy walk into shanklin, have a read of the reviews, forgot to put in my review that with the station being in walking distance we had 3 days out on that, it conects with the steam railway, which was a nice day out and we also went to ryde and sandown as well, it was great not having to take the car.

Also there is a small area next to the swimmingpool to kick a ball about or play badminton.
