.... accept teardrops but don't try to charge you for a caravan?
We've been to a few with our VW camper and teardrop and most have tried to charge us twice. Once for the camper which sleeps 2 and then wanted to charge us a caravan rate for the teardrop. We thought this was a little unfair as they were offering free pitching of one small tent next to a camper and our teardrop is only as big as a small tent.

We can't quite work out where a teardrop fits in. It's not really a caravan as such or is it?
We were hoping we'd get a cheaper rate as our teardrop is so small and is just for the kids to sleep in. It would have been cheaper if we'd parked the camper in the car park and setup our massive 6 man tent. We're not skin flints, we just have to work to a tight budget with 2 kids.

Excuse my ignorance, but whats a teardrop?
Hi Matty
it's a tiny covered trailer you can sleep in. I suppose it's a micro caravan really but built around a 8 feet by 4 feet base and only 4 feet high inside so just for sleeping in.

That's why I like sites that charge per pitch rather than extra for this that and the other.
Try joining us on a UKCS meet, we normally manage to negotiate an all-in rate or one where it is charged per person.
Having read a lot of the posts in the forums I see you're a pretty friendly bunch so I may well try to get to one of the meets. One price per pitch sounds a lot better than multiple costs per unit.
