Hi some time ago i used a fly repelant called extra tail which i bought from a saddlery shop,it worked for me and my mates better than repellants from the chemist.I go to the south west coast of scotland regulary,and have done for the past 15 years.

49  They dont like garlic!!!  so if you use the tablets or eat it inyour food, they should leave you alone!!!!!  I dont, so they have a picnic, but lavender and citronella help too.  Leave off the aftershave and perfume if you want peace.  Have a lovely holiday!  Ethel

I can't eat the garlic either, but my wife margaret loves it, so at least she should have a peaceful time.....watching them all biting me....lol

even if you take the odourless garlic tablets because it releases from the pores of your skin it still works we used to go on a lot of scuba diving holidays and was going to gozo(malta)someone told me to use these tablets atleast three weeks before we went i must admit i hardly got bit not like some on our trip who thought it was rubbish(i bet they were sorry and took them next time)
