Hi

I'm very excited as we have just booked Cofton for 12 nights in August after reading the reviews on the camp site search. We are taking 2 teens aged 13 & 15 (the 18 year old may come if he doesn't get a better offer!!) is it really as good as you all say?

we went in august a couple of years ago , lovely site in fact i bet it is a excellent site out of school holidays , very busy in august pool overflowing , and ambulance at to be called twice while me and daughter were in pool , due to boistress teenagers jumping in and landing on smaller children, in my opinion far to full and overcrowded, bars unless you got in early before 7pm you could not even get through the door , excellent for anyone into fishing as it has its own lakes , all in all lovely site would go back, but not in school holidays again

Hi Pam & Kev

We will be there in August too! It's our first time also, I went off the reviews. I assumed it will be very busy there won't be many sites with pools etc that aren't busy in the school hols but I hope that the pool is not too dangerous I could do without a trip to A&E. I'm sure that we will all have a great time, and there looks to be loads to do in the surrounding area.

Have been twice, and really enjoyed it, BUT we did go during term time. It wasn't too crowded then.

Hi Pam and Kev

the family and I are going to Cofton for 14 nights on 15th August which is the middle 2 weeks of the holidays. Picked these dates to avoid the main 2 weeks and hoping it will be a little quieter when we go. We too went off the recommendations on this site and feedback from the forums. Can't wait til summer now, its like being a kid again going camping. Just the trailer and tow bar to get now so we can actually get our gear down to Devon.

we have been there a few times over the years but always out of the school holidays. We stopped going when our boys started school, and our 4 man dome became a Vango tunnel and therefore difficult to accomodate. Otherwise it's  a good site with very good facilities and in a nice part of the country. In my view highly recommended until it gets busy.

We visited Cofton last August & absolutely loved it.

Facilities were good (given that it was peak time). On site shop, take away & pub were all brilliant. Fresh bread every morning. Swimming pool & grassed area surrounding it was gorgeous.

The best discovery was a pub called The Anchor in Cockwood. 10 minutes walk, next to a picturesque harbour & some of the greatest food you'll ever find. Don't take bookings, however, so get there early. And take a torch 'cos it's a dark walk home.

You'll love it. We're either going back there or we may try Peppermint Park. Definately going back to that area however; Dawlish Warren was excellent.

You'll love it
