Fisherground campsite in Eskdale.
Never been, but have heard great things - real campfires allowed, Ravenglass Miniature Railway, adventure playground with rafts.
Check out their website:

And check out the reviews on this site.
Might see you there later this year!!

Fisherground is great, lovely setting. Our 4 children loved the moat, stream and railway, but it is a bit remote if you are looking for facilities.
Campfires are fab but it gets very smoky during the evening which is't a problem as long as you're not asthmatic.
Low Wray NT site is about 10 min drive from ambleside, is on the lake, has a stream and a playground, the facilities are a bit basic, but adiquate, we had a great time last Whit weekend.
