I would recommend Windmills camping just outside Tenby near New Hedges. It's a wonderful campsite with views, a walk down to the town, very well taken care of and quiet. The saundersfoot to Tenby bus drops you off just at the top of the road (but the site is down a little lane, away from the main road so no noise). I haven't written a review of it yet as I wouldn't want it getting too popular!!
What was it like? Hijacked this thread - do you know of any other nice sites in the Tenby / St David's area. We are trying to book for ourselves in a tent and the in laws in a caravan. But I don't seem to be having much luck. Want to go for a week at Whit.
sorry couldn't resist poking my nose in but what ever you choose dont go to wood park in new hedges between tenby and saundersfoot.(You wouldn't believe us if we told you.) All in all an good site but the owner and her mother ...steer clear...frightening!!(god i hope there still alive or i'm gonna feel awful) We went 2 years ago, so i dont know if they still have it but it felt like a family business so i wouldn't be surprised if they do.
We have been looking at all the reviews on here, and really fancy the C&CC at St. David's but it doesn't open until 28th April and as we aren't members at the moment we can't book it till then.
So we are at a bit of a loss at the moment, as to where to go.

Re Windmills I mentioned last week - it doesn't have a website that I know of as the couple who run it don't strike me as being web-savvy people but they are very hard working at keeping the site nice and quiet. (they do like children, but seem to go off them when they reach about 11ish which is a bit sad as all kids have to grow up!)
I am sure they're in the camping books - will look out their number when I can find it.
Mill House in Stepaside is a really nice campsite, and there's a bus to Tenby that goes from outside the gates. You can walk to Saundersfoot along an old miner's track – it's quite a way but is a nice enough walk. And you can stop at the pub at Wiseman's Bridge on the way for refreshment!
Any of the sites in new Hedges, which is situated between the ntwo resorts will be very close to a bus route. As will the ones in the Kigetty area. REcommended is Rowston in New Hedges, very clean, but no online booking facility.
There is a lovely site called Whitewells just outside Tenby between Lydstep and Tenby. There is a bus service just outside the site only 5 - 10 minutes into Tenby. The site is in walking distance of the beautiful Lydstep Beach and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path just acoss the road.

Best place in the area is "The Coppins". CL site run by Brian Lewis. Situated at end of Valley Rd, mile and a half outside Saundersfoot. Bus stop 100m from site entrance. See entry in Caravan Club directory.
I second that about Wood Park. We went about 5 years ago and I wouldn't want to go back. Only had one night because we moved on (spent ages driving around in the blistering heat and only ended up accross the road in New Hedges but I forget the name of the place). Wood Park shoved us in an overflow field -despite having pre-booked - right next to the dual carriageway. It was a trek to the loos (which were ancient and don't get me started on the smell!!). I think there was a stand-pipe facility in the field but apart from that it was rubbish!!
Whitewell I can't really comment on apart from having been in a static about (scratches head trying to do the maths) 25 years ago as a little girl. We had the hottest weather ever and is where our family love affair with Tenby began!!
Wood park is a wonderful site. We went there about 3 years ago & i would say it was one of the best holidays I've ever had.. Great showers & toilets spotless camp....Very good for bootsales in that area aswell...
Oh just noticed the message about Woodpark, hadn't read that post before I posted mine... We stayed in our caravan when we wre there & thankfully everything was fantastic.. Agree about the old lady owner though LOL ...We were thinking about going back this summer but with 2 young children I'm not going to take the chance of having a bad time...
