Hi,

We've booked two weeks on the CC site at Henley in August and would appreciate any experiences of this site and any recommendations for things to do in the local area (that an 11 year old would not find boring!).

thanks in anticipation

Andrew

Its an easy walk into Henley from the site where there are opportunities to either hire boats of trips on larger craft. The campsite is within easy reach of all the attractions the Thames valley has to offer.

Just one point about this site. If you get the opportunity avoid the pitches next to the road as there can be some road noise at certain times of the day.

Its on the Henley - Marlow road which does, on our last visit about 4 years ago, did not seem to have a very good surface and little screening from the campsite. We were on a pitch close to the road and we found it noisy.  Pitches further into the site I expect would be fine.

Hi Andrew,

We stayed at the Henley site last year. Just to confirm the reply from David, we were on a pitch 3 rows from the road and it's noisy at night. If you go as far back as you can behind the wardend office you will be fine. Pitch numbers 24 - 46  and 75 - 83 are ideal. We found that people do not vacate there pitches at noon as required, so it would be worth your while if the sites full, asking the warden who's moving off, so you can get the pitch you want. Or it might be worth your while sending for a site plan as your going in August, perhaps you can book a pitch ? If you go into Henley, turn left over bridge and then left onto path along thames, you can cycle for miles. Hope this helps.  regards   Daniel
