I think the pictures of beddgelert you may have looked at are the pictures of boy scouts rough camping in one of the previous posts. At the time we went to cae du we camped in a tent but there were also caravans, motorhomes etc. with hook-ups.

The picture on page one is certainly Scouts camping on farm land further up the valley from Cae Ddu, looks like at the other end of the lake. There is a long shot on the Monday page which shows the valley and the fields that is Cae Ddu but you need to know where you are looking. Certainly there is no problem with trailer tents there, very flat from memory and it only took a few minutes to walk into Beddgelert. The Prince Llewellyn was my favourite pub just next to the bridge, followed by the Royal Goat near the main car park but that was a bit more up market but good food.
