Sorry to hear about all your complaints about the crows nest site. but myself, my wife& kids and wivies family have been going to the Crows Nest for about 8yrs now Both camping on the top field and caravaning and not once have we come across anything that any of you have said. The owner and his family are willing to assist at anytime. whenever we have had a problem it has been sorted no problem. I do agree that the toilets need up dated but these are always acceptable and clean. The part where you say drunk drivers where driving around the site then why did you not inform the police if the site owner was not prepared to do something about it. I know I would have and lets not forget you had children with you so surely they where at risk from these people. As it happens we are all going there soon for a week and I know that we will have a good time and some well earned peace and quite. (Yes you do get peolpe going back to tent/caravan late at night when the pub closes but it does not last long.)

Just confirming the unsuitability of Crows Nest for families. Spent a noisy Saturday night there. Swearing and music ruined the night for us. Will try Browns next time (thanks Mabon). Any other suggestions for a quiet family site in the area? (We have 2 children under 4 who like to be in bed by 7:00pm)

Cayton Village, approx 3/4 miles down the road from Browns.  Relatively quiet site.  Say relatively coz when its nice the kids tend to head for thr playarea.  Camp operates a noise "black-out"(within reason) at 11pm but generally quiet before then.  No club (but puc close) for people to come falling out of.  We went a couple of times last last and holiday booked for two weeks for OH and her mate and 2 kids on their own from 29thJuly this year

Thanks for the suggestions. Browns don't accept tents, so it looks like Cayton Village, Jacobs Mount or Flower of May next time.

You could try the council site at the Country Park in Filey - only 5 minute walk to the beach, nice site, quiet, showers/toilets a bit jaded now.  Trouble is very difficult to get a tent pitch unless you book weeks in advance.  They've been fully booked for the whole of the season since June.

Could try the Wolds Way campsite at Malton.  It's a 1/2 hour drive to Filey, but the site is excellent.  We've laready been 3 times this year and are going back again.  Have a look at the reviews.
