I have booked up for a week in July, to the White Water CC site at Stockton-On-Tees, can anyone give some insight into what the place is like?  We have 2 kids ages 5 & 8.  Also, i believe there is a championship standard canoeing area very near, hence the white water name.  can you tell me if there is calm water areas wher i could hire canoeing equipment for the kids?

I keep my caravan in the storage site there & have the occasional stay. Its right next to the canoe course. The water flow is controlled by gates and is separate from the river. There are cycle paths along boths side of the river. Its generally a quiet site with good facillities nearby. A nature reserve is next door & leisure complex neaby ( cinema, bowling etc). There is some industry near (railway sidings & a factory) but not a problem. Try this site for details of canoes.

We stayed there last weekend, as we had car trouble & had to be close to home. The site itself is very nice the toilets/showers are spotless, the staff are very friendly, TV reception on site is very poor but if you have a long enough ariel cable there are ariel points on every EHU point (they sell 25m of the cable on site for £10) There is a play area for the kids, mine are 5 & 2, they loved it. There is also a games room for the kids. Just off the site there is a very nice pub, they do 2 meals for £6.95 we were quite impressed. The only thing we were dissapointed in was the shop, but there is an Asda supermarket a short walk away. Teeside Park complex is very close by, with loads of shops & restaurants it also has a Cinema & Bowling alley. I would deffinatley go back, although we didn't plan to stay so close to home we had a really good time there.

Sorry I cannot help with the water sports question.
