I have been looking through the Camp Site directory and found a nice site in Cheddar called Bucklegrove, has anyone been and is it any good? have read the reviews and they seem very good in general, but there are two reviews for April 2006, one that say's it was good, the other that it was terrible - now I'm confussed

I want to book somewhere in the Cheddar area or about 10 miles around ASAP, it must have a childrens play area and a small shop - pub would be a bonus!

Can anyone give any suggestions?

Hi there, we're been to Bucklegrove, we put in a full review in May 2005 which sums up our thoughts. We have also stayed at Mendip Heights in Priddy - this is a lovely site with good clean facilities and a well stocked shop, with a small children's play area, and the setting is spectacular. The village of Priddy is about a 20 minute walk, there's a pub there but we didn't check it out. Wookey Hole Caves with the paper mill and penny arcade make a great day out.

HI,

Broadway house is nice, been there a few times. Can get a bit busy at peak times, as most do though. Only a mile from cheddar gorge.

We stayed at Bucklegrove and enjoyed it...very friendly staff, decent, value for money food and a swimming pool- free, which was great! The shop was not open as it was October half term but Cheddar was great...we loved it.

We have visited Broadway House many times and always been happy especially as if you pre-book you can stay in an overnight arrivals area for free if you travel over night.

Not recommended if you have a big van because the handstanding pitches are very small and the fields are quite slopey in places.

Bar is OK but gets crowded.
