Hello,

First time poster. Can anyone recommend a good campsite in the Shrewsbury area for the Whit Bank Holiday weekend? Preferably one that's child friendly. Thank You.

Hi,there is a big site at Wem about 7 miles from Shrewsbury called Lower Lacon has a bar and kids disco also outdoor pool and play area.Welcome to the site I'm sure you'll find it very helpful.

A good way to find sites is to go to the camp site search at the top of the page, you can name the county or town to find sites in the area, and  look at reviews from other people which I find very helpful.Best of luck

Ken

Thank you very much for the feedback Ken. I've found a website for Lower Lacon and it looks ideal.

Thanks, Neil

Hi

We have just come back from Oxon Hall, which is about 3 miles outside Shrewsbury.  Great site, we received a lovely welcome from the staff, kids play area is a bit basic but very well kept.  There is a chippy, chinese, 2 pubs (Two For One with Wacky Warehouse) and a Hungry Horse, big co-op all within walking distance.  (15 mins for the Hungry Horse - 5 mins for the rest).

Also, it is next to the Park and Ride into Shrewsbury, cost us £1.00 return each per adult and nothing for under 16s.

Looking forward to returning there.

Michelle

Thank you Michelle. Oxon Hall looks great, it's favourite at the moment for booking for a long weekend at Whit.

Thanks, Neil

You will really enjoy yourselves there.  When we were leaving we were chatting to one of the Manager's and he was saying that they get very busy at BH weekends, always full, but usually any other weekends they are fine.  Also I think the flower show is on for 5 days some time in August and I think he said they were getting booked up for that too.

Obviously very popular - enjoy and watch out for the rabbits !

Michelle
