I was wondering if anyone had a clever way of searching the net for campsites' names/addresses that doesn't bring up endless holiday parks and caravan sites.
I've had a number of unpleasant experiences on caravan sites, where campers are made to feel like 2nd class citizens and I also find rows and rows of caravans to be ugly and they are inevitably overpriced!
Since Caravan sites have somehow hijacked the term 'campsite' and have much bigger budgets for online marketing and websites I'm finding it very difficult to find campsites in the traditional sense of the word!!
Any help would be much appreciated

Some sites seperate tents and caravans. Our regular site, Brynich Caravan Park, have a large field for tents only. Can't think of any that have no caravans at all though.
Agree with Isle of Man comment - had a brilliant time there last summer. Only one caravan on our site (you need a special licence I believe to take a caravan onto the island).

Ive not been there but I think shell island in wales is tent only if you have a camper van your suppose to sleep in a tent as thats all their licensed for.
Hollows farm Lake District, Red squirrel glencoe and variouse national trust sites in the lakes.
I hope you find some more. I prefer sites that are tent only, and if not at least tents on one side caravans on the other and the facilities in the middle.
