I stayed at Lytton Lawn about 6 weeks back - it's the one without all the hooha - just loos (V nice!) & a little shop. We had passes for the others but never went.

Lytton Lawn is a nice quiet site - make sure you ask to be away from the road - I guess it could get busy; but having said that we were about 100yds away in a tent & it didn't wake us!

We stayed at Lytton Lawn  ....... it's a lovely site, in a great area for biking ..... when staying at one of the touring sites you get free passes to the static site nearby .... we cycled up to the other one about 3 miles away ..... it's all spotless and beautiful - very quiet and relaxing - nothing at all like Butlins or Haven ... we didn't use any of the facilities, thought about going back for a swim, but never made it .... too busy cycling along the beach etc

Lytton Lawn was imacculate we had a grass pitch, opposite to the shower block, out of choice, which was spotless day and night, and very cosy in the early hours lol

Would recommend at stay at either site

we stayed in the cedar chalets at shorefield several times. The holiday park there is kept immaculate. Lovely indoor swimming pool and great kids entertainment. I know you can use these facilities whilst staying at lytton lawn. Always found staff helpful. I would hope they treat their touring site customers just the same.

we stayed at oakdene last year, great for the kids, but have to say it was noisy at night in peak season as there was a disco till midnight every night, and there were teenagers everywhere.

if you are going to camp there, dont get put in the meadow, although its cheaper, when it rains it floods badly as its low ground. plus it only has portacabins for washing up, loos and showers.

the main field had excellent facilities, but it was like sleeping on a roundabout, people had to drive past you to get out, and the washing up area was noisy even at night, as people were driving up from the meadow, and washing up in the metal sinks which echoed as they were undercover.

i would go again, but i would rather do it in a caravan, slightly more sound proof than a tent i would think.

Lytton Lawn

Mostly this site was good but make sure you are not near the road (their website map shows B road this I later realised). Literally we were 8 ft from the road on pitch 211 with a hedge between us and I found it very noisy even through the night (which seemed to be a popular route home from the local pub and boy racers). With alcohol and sheer tiredness we managed to sleep the second night. Shower/toilet block was very clean but showers were scalding (not adjustable by the user). Staff were very polite and the shop is small but handy, though expensive. We had no trouble with noise from any other campers and all was quiet by 11.00 pm. Also most of the pitches are on a slight slope and a bit bumpy (pitches 218 to 232 less so).

Stayed at Lytton Lawn twice no problems at all with noise from the road, but we used the small area tot he left of the games room.
