Has anyone beed to Castle Howard Lakeside Park recently..? I've checked the reviews and there have been no new ones since August 2004. We're off to a concert in August in the grounds of Castle Howard and we'd love to stay somewhere so close.

I was there last year on a BH w/e. The tents were packed so close our guys were crossing over with the next door tent's.  Some soggy pitches, too, after rain. Not very good drainage in places. May be OK out of the busy periods.

Love the area and Castle Howard.

Just left a review of this site but forgot to say that if you camp on the park you will receive a ticket for half price admission to the House and Gardens. Also if you return within a week you can enter for free. Have to say we took up the deal and would have been happy to go around the gardens a third time, it is worth it.

last time I fished was a few years ago they had stopped day tickets due to something going on with one of the bailiffs cant remember what to be honest but you could still fish if you stopped at camp site don't know if this is still the case
