The Royal hill is great, we go regularly. The touring pitches are either side of a fairly quiet road one, one side you're next to the river which in the summer months is shallow enough for the kids to wade in. The other pitches are across the road and next to the pub, which serves real ale and excellent food. It also has a barn attached where on Fridays they have a sort of sing along where everyone brings instruments and anyone can do a turn. The facilities are basic, they only have a few EHUs and 1 shower for the men, 2 for the ladies but they are clean and ther'es always loads of hot water. ther'es also a small room to do your washing up and with a fridge-freezer

Royal hill sounds great, we are not so far away!  What do they charge?

Thanks

Royal Hill is three pound a night for adults and 1 pound a night for kids, not sure how much an EHU would be cos we've never bothered with one.

Alan, if you ask to be put on the piches not on the river side your little one would be fine, there's plenty of room in the back field for the kids to run round on and they're well away from the river and the road.

Park Hall farm is about 20mins away, in fact we went there the last time for a day out with a 9 and an 8 yr old. Theres plenty for the younger ones and theres quad biking for the older ones which they loved

hi Alan - answered you on Lower Lacon question - I worked at Knockin near to Kinnerley and I'm sure there are a couple of permanent "traveller" sites in the area - can't help re names though but just thought I'd mention it just in case....might be better Llangollen direction if you want to be nr Oswestry??
