...I don't know what gas your new barbecue runs on, but if it's 'Calor' a 4.5kg. butane (the blue one!) will probably last you all season. It's a reasonable size, not to heavy and easy enough to pack in your car/trailer...
If you've already got an empty bottle or can 'borrow' one (any size or colour) to return, it'll cost about £12 for a full bottle...

When looking at gas bottles its worth remembering that the bigger the bottle the cheaper the gas works out at.
We have now managed to aquire 3 different sizes 4.5, 7 and 15.   The 15 is by far the cheapest to refil value wise.    Going to use the 7 for the frame & small dome tents in the tent and 15 in the trailer tent.

I,ve got a 15 butane for my barbie at home & I,ve been useing it for about 3 years now !!! On the Dandy I have 2  7s (1 in use & 1 spare) which easily last a season. At the end of the day how long they last is down to you. If I run the fridge on gas it cuts through it. Other wise just cooking on it hardly makes a dent.

THUMPER.
