Hi again all,

I've been trying to book a campsite for bank holiday weekend (I know I've left it a bit late) the only place I can get into is Bobby Shafto's Caravan Park near Beamish in Co Durham, I've read the 'mixed' reviews, but they don't tell me what I need to know.

There is a kids play area and a games room but could anyone tell me anything about these eg.. what age range is the play area for, and what games are in the games room? My two are 2 & 5 years old and I just need to know these activities will be Ok for them. I know theres a club house so us adults will be Ok

So if anyone has stayed there recently and has an opinion of the site, good or bad, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

hello

just came back from bobby shafto's at the weekend and i had also read reviews i found site very nice i was in a tent and alot of the pitches were on a  slope but caravan pitches  seemed to be levelled out. toilets immaculate showers( 25p token )were lovely. there is a small pub onsite with a games room with pool table and football table game  in. small patio area outside and small play area with a few swings and slide climbing frame which is fenced off, . there is also a small shop basic supplies etc. i found the staff to be really pleasant and helpful and the site itself to be really clean and i will no doubt be returning.

hope this helps

shell.

Hi shell

Thanks for replying, yes it does help, I was worried that the play area was just like a climbing frame only suitable for older kids. My 5 yr old will love the pool table in the games room but my little man is too young for that, so if the play area has a slide etc and I take his bike he should be Ok. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay there, I'm sure we will.

Hi Davy & Jackie thanks for that, I'm quite looking forward to it now I've heard a few good things about the site. I not sure my 2 would enjoy Beamish but I've heard that Diggerland is close by? They would love that!

Donna, diggerland is close by at Langley Park. As for the youngsters enjoying Beamish, we were talking to some people who took their kids and they enjoyed it especially going down the mine. Think the boys were about 6 & 8
