Has anyone been to this park in the last year as this sites review of it is not that good, also there is apparently a hill that you have to get up to go home.  Ok going all downhill, would appreciate any advice.

Hi you'd be better off asking in the UK Caravan and Camp Sites section.

That's reassuring we went a 5 years ago and found no fault at all, but did not take notice of the touring part then to be honest.  Do you remember there being a steep hill when turning right out of the site? My husband still has a fear of getting stuck on a hill.

Went there about 4 years ago or so - our son and his family were staying there 2 weeks and we went for the weekend.   They had just undergone a revamp of the site too.  We found the touring area a bit cramped and scruffy to be honest.  It might have been due to the fact that there was still a lot of unfinished work to be done.  Or maybe that it rained for the whole weekend....however we wouldn't go again.

I think some of you may be confusing Woolacombe Sands Holiday park and Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park, or Golden Sands.

Woolacombe Bay is down a turn off at the top of the hill before you drop down towards Woolacombe and is a large complex with chalets etc and a seperate touring field.

Woolacombe Sands is further down the hill and is Touring/camping and statics.

Golden Sands is on the same Rd as Woolacombe Sands but further up the hill.

Hi

The one that i am asking about is Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park which is for touring/camping and statics.  They have a mascot called Woolley Bear who is a great big yellow bear.

Sure anyone would remember this bear !! had they seen him on the loose.

Hi Gary. Oh yes, woolley is a sight for sore eyes indeed, still, he keeps the kids happy for hours

Yes, Woolacombe Sands is the nearest park to Woolacombe itself, and it is walkable to town, but take my advice, dont walk back up via the roadway, its a long hard climb, take the footpath through the field and lane which starts down by the swimming pool area of the site.

I went last year and had no complaints about the site at all, except maybe the shop and barfood prices., and the fact that I twisted my ankle going down the gravel slope, in the dark, to go to the loo!
