Have copied a post below that i placed a few weeks ago and though people have been helpful i have not quite found what we are looking for. I was chatting to a workmate the other day and he seems to think there are a few sites around this area that are Caravan Club listed. As we are members of the C&CC i cannot find them. If anybody can help with info, or can suggest anything suitable, i would be grateful. Thanks in anticipation. Bill..........

Hi there. I am looking for some help, i have spent most of the afternoon surfing and to no avail. I am looking for a caravan site that is within walking distance of a train station, or with a direct bus link, that connects with Scarborough. We are going for the August bank holiday weekend and would prefer a site with something to do for the kids. It does not matter where it is but would prefer south of Scarborough/ York. Has anyone got that bit of info i desire before i drive myself batty trying to find( i came across the Holy Grail while searching  ). thanks for any input offered. Bill n family...........

Lakeminster park in Beverley is within walking distance of the station (but quite a long walk - about 25 mins? -ish), but is by all accounts not very nice!

There is a site on Long Lane in Beverley which is within 10 mins walk of the train station, but it's either a caravan club certified location, or a C&CC equivalent - not sure which!  If it was a nice day I'd have had a walk up there for you to look at the sign, but it's horrid, so I won't!

Otherwise, there are quite a lot of sites at Brandesburton (put that as the town name in the campsite search), but they aren't in walking distance of a train station.  There's probably a bus service from the main road going to Scarborough though.  Suppose the sites themselves would be able to help with this.

I've just had a look, and the site on Long Lane in Beverley is called Willow Lodge, and it's a C&CC certified site.

Thanks for that Dawn . You are a super. I have looked at the info here on Lakeminster and though it is a lot closer to the town i really could not book my family in there.

I have tried to find some info on Willow Lane Caravan Site, the C&CC book is no help at all. It gives no info on the site other than it is .75 acre and level. The symbols show that there are shops food and pubs near by. As you seem to live close by could you enlighten me to how far these things are away and what is in the area. I have looked on multi map and there seems to be a path from the site to a nearby pub.

You say the train station is about 10 mins walk awy but my sat nav says 2.1 miles, how would we be for taxi's, i know sometimes they are hard to book.A half hour walk is fine by me but you know what its like when you got kids lol.

We have been looking around for things to do and found the racecourse has a big bank holiday meeting on the sunday and as i have been known to have the odd flutter and the kids love horses that looks like the sunday sorted.

Once again a really big thanks for your help. Bill n family...................

Well thats it it's booked. Willow Lane it is.

Have looked into it further and the post code position on multimap is not quite in the same place as willow lane, over a mile out as it is lol.

If Dawn or anyone has any recommendations for places to eat drink or just have a good time can you pass it on please.

Once again Dawn a big thank you for takin the trouble to find the information.

Does the mile from Wolds Way include the long drive from the A64 to the site - it must be at a mile itself.

Still, excellent campsite - just look at the reviews!

Have already been there 3 times this year and will be going back again.
