Has anybody got any suggestions for a camp site near Drayton Manor that would be suitable for 4 adults and six kids (age ranges 4 - 16). I see Drayton Manor has it's own camping site within the Estate bu the last review was in 2003. Anybody stayed there recently? Not looking for too much from the site just somewhere to crash after the park closes really, alcholic refreshment would be a bonus though.
Cheers campers.

Although we have not stayed at the camp site at Drayton Manor we have been there for days out, twise last year. It is a great park for adults and kids. Last time we went we had a nose around the camping area, it looked ok. Showers and toilets looked clean enough. No electric hookups. And the camping area is in a lovely location, and near the pub! There has always seemed to be plenty of people camping there.
If we didnt live so close (only an hours drive) we would definately camp there.

I only live 5 minutes from drayton manor and although obviously I havent camped there I know of people that have and they had a great time! if you do go dont forget to review it.
cheers,

I am also interested in camping at Drayton Manor, I sent for their brochure and it says bookings not accepted. As I want to go the 1st Saturday of the school holidays, I don't think I would get a pitch as most people would probably go Friday evening.

Hi all, We live about 30 mins away, but have pitched on the camp site, There are no EHU but the toilets showers etc are good and kept clean. There is a small shop at the back of the utility building selling basics and there is a pub on site. Don't let the 'no booking' put you off, there is no set pitching and it is quite a big area, we have never had any trouble getting in.
------------- Doing as little as possible for as much as possible...
Oh that sounds OK rabb, thanks for the info. so you think we would be OK turning up on Saturday 22nd July and getting a pitch? My daughter wants to go there for her birthday, but I have been trying to talk her into going to Flamingoland as its nearer to us, but she thinks that Drayton Manor has better and more big rides.
Is the pub open in the evening or just while the themepark is open? Does it do barmeals?
Hi, when you are posting details of a site, please ensure you link to their UKcampsite.co.uk listing, not direct to their website, to enable reviews etc to be read
Cheers

Thanx for all your helpfull comments folks. I have to say I'm a bit put off about the no booking at Drayton Manor. Don't fancy having a 200 mile drive with 4 adults and 6 kids and finding no room at the inn. Marston looks quite good but might work out a bit pricey for all of us.
And as for Alton Towers we were going to go there orginally but concensus of opinion changed it to Drayton Manor. We were going to stay at Callow Top if we went there.
