Pothmadog is nice & has a few camp sites almost on the beach..

Most sites are buked up though but you should be okay if you dont need electric.

mid/south I'm afraid but we are holding a UKCS meet here in June if youfancy meeting other UKCS members face to face

If you're travelling down on a Friday after work you might want to try Angelsey. Straight down the M56/A55 and you're on the island. It would take about 1 and a half hours from the Chester area to get onto Angelsey. It's an easy place to get to but there can be hold ups near the Chester/Wrexham exits or further down around Penmaenmawr.

If that's too far try the Plassey near Wrexham. There are also a couple of nice one's near Caernarfon.

Havent tried them myself, a bit too close to home but they get some good reviews.

I would echo the sentiments about Fforest Fields though. Might be a bit far for a weekend. Best route from Burnley would probably be M6/M5 then across country - but then again maybe not on a Friday night.!

Have tried morfa lodge, dinas dinlle, near caernarfon. Near to a nice beach with heated outdoor pool. Entertainment at night time. Nice site but not cheap.

I have stayed at greenacres (haven) which is excellentfor kids entertainment and with heated indoor pool.  You would be pressed to find a nicer beach anywhere. Its a further 45 minutes from Caernarfon though.

The nearest ones to Burnley are Prestatyn and Towyn but much busier area.

Off to llangollen and staying at llandyn hall on the side of the canal and only a short walk into the town, down the tow path. this is a ccc holiday site set up by north wales area.

 Doing the offa's dyke long distance footpath in stages, so hoping for dry weather at least.
