Booked to go to West Fleet Holiday Farm in Dorset for 1st week of summer hols as 1st time campers. It sound great but all the reviews moan about the shower blocks. I'm told that the toilets/showers are the one thing that needs to be good when you're camping so I'm getting a bit worried that the family will moan about my choice of site. Can anyone reasure me that it's not that bad? Is there anywhere that you could plug in a hairdryer if we don't get EHU?

Last time we visited approx 2-3 years back the showers weren't very good but not the worst i'd seen.We still enjoyed it , went quite often. They may have changed by now. I would ring the site about the hairdryer.

Personally that is not my top priority. A quiet campsite with not too many people and plenty of space is my first priority in lovely countryside. Mank loos are not pleasant but you can resort to the portapotti option or even the nappy bucket solution, flip flops in the showers to avoid contact with the surfaces or if really dreadful use the loo tent as a wash area.
We are all different but if you go ready to cope... would that help?
People have different priorities, but how long do you actually spend in the loos/showers? If they're that bad you can always have a good laugh about it over drinks in the evening.

we went there last august and have booked to go back again this year the shower blocks are ok perhaps a bit dated, but clean and hot, if they were that bad i would not be going back this year.

Just had email and photo`s from my eldest daughter that lives in Welwyn Garden City, they along with my 16 month old grandson spent the BH weekend at this site and thought it very good. Situated about 3 miles west of Weymouth
Thanks for all that, it has certainly put my mind at rest. If the weather is like it has been today that will be a great bonus but if not we will have a grea time I'm sure.
