is it me or have i missed some . everytime ive checked a campsite web site that ends up being a cc site there is never a bar and very few facilities just bob standard stuff i would of thought they would have more to offer being as the cc and ccc seem as big as they are , and also not having as much s the others with more to offer there pitch fees are not that much cheaper either hence why i not joined shame really

-------------
why is it that peeps into caravan and camping have no problems with the peeps next door never a problem we pull onto our pitch to be offered tea or help ercting the awning /tent maybe if the country lived in caravans and tents there would be no problems in life ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

The CC sites don't generally have any bar / club facilities. They specialise in provide clean, well looked after sites where they don't cram people in. I only joined the CC for the insurance, but having now visited my first CC site (Haycraft in Dorset) I will be visiting many more (if I can get booked in). They are exactly what I am looking for, the facilities are first rate. Must be what most of the members want as getting a weekend pitch in season is nigh on impossible.

yea not putting them down in anyway was just saying that due to the amount of cc and ccc sites you would of thought they could have a little bar to wet the whistle

Quite agree I looked into joining and looked through the book that they sent me and it was going to cost me more per night on a CC site than it would have on the regular sites that I visit.

Guess the sites that you can save your Subscription fee in a 5 night stay are the CL's ( Certified Locations) where there are no more than 5 vans and you have to transport the contents of your porta potti home + no services like electric and water.

Very few CC or C&CC sites have bar, entertainment, or shop.   They are in the business of providing caravan/camping sites with excellent amenities, i.e. toilets, showers etc, not holiday parks.  This is how the members like it.  They know they can rely on the facilities being clean, the site well cared for, and usually peaceful.

Sparky, believe me down here on the south coast it is easy to save your membership fee by using CC sites. The commercial ones can cost and arm and a leg (there are cheap ones too), but there is never the question mark over the quality of facilities at a CC site. The loos and showers are always spotless, not something you can take for granted on commercial sites.

Only ever had a look at the ones up here i.e. Culloden.

Wanted £4.60 Per Adult x 2 and 1.60 per Child x 4 + £4.00 for the pitch.

Total was £18.60 per night and that was low season.

5 Star sites I use at Monifieth and St Andrews £13.00 per night and awning is free low or high season.

Maybe I just need to spread the wings and drift further south.

Point of information.................all CC CLs must provide drinking water, waste water disposal and chemical toilet emptying.   Quite a few do have EHU, and some have toilets and showers.

The reason I joined both clubs is in this thread. They make sure there is some space between you and your neighbours. Facilities are usually good and we save money eachyear by using them.

I wouldn't want to go if they had bars clubs etc etc no thank you. We go to the CC sites because we know what we are getting and that is great sites good pitches pristine Loos etc. If you want bars etc there are plenty of other commercial sites that have them - its just my idea of hell!
