Ok Ok for those of u thinking were completely bonkers - yeah we are!!! Was just wondering if anyone had taken their rabbit camping ? We are thinking of having one and the OH has suggested taking it with us - fair enough i thought we have 2 dogs and he / she can go for a walk with them.
Any feedback on this would be great
Thanks

I took ours a few years ago, unfortunately he was a magnet for all the dogs on the site, which was a bit of a problem with our own dog! she was protecting him fiercely and wouldn't stop barking, in the end we had to go home! he was in his own cage which was quite big but folded flat to go in the car, and he travelled in a cat basket. I wouldn't do it again, though.
No I wouldn't take my little Bertie Bunny away with me.. He's a house pet though so doesn't spend much of his time in his hutch... I would be so on edge all the time aswell & worried incase dogs got near & scared him.

Nothin' wrong with taking the rabbit. You never know, you might strike lucky and find a site with a "Hare Dryer" in the shower block.
Alternatively, you might be unlucky....those in the neighbouring tent might have a Cobb......and it'll be roast bunny !!
I would think very carefully about taking a pet rabbit, simply because of the danger of myxomatosis. We used to love watching the wild rabbits when we went to the C&CC site at Sandringham, but this year, we have only seen one very sick bunny, so we assume the myxomatosis got the others over the winter. It would be an awful thing to happen to a cherished pet.
There are some cruel buggers out there! (IMHO rabbit is too stringy when cooked).
I've seen rabbits been exercised on a harness at some sites but would echo the thoughts of the other comments on here, i.e Mixamotosis and other peoples dogs. Our local kennels do offer a rabbit boarding facility for a nominal fee and if it were me this is the way I'd go as I would not be able to trusts other peoples mutts. Even with my own dog its a gamble as I've had snarling hounds scare the cr*p out of her and the owners comments? "they're only playing" (!)
Never even thought of mixi and the other dogs on site - many thanks for your comments. Havent got a rabbitt yet and dont think im gonna be allowed one either afterall we do have 5 cats and 2 dogs and the cats love bringing us pressies!!!!!! Dont want to wake up one morning to find stew missing and him dead on our door step!!!!!!
