Can anyone suggest a campsite in the lakes? - Don't really want anywhere with games rooms and loads of kids, just need somewhere to pitch my tent with basic facilities and that is close to a pub serving good food etc.  I dont mind where it is but dont really want to pay more that £15 per night....any ideas would be really appreciated - thanks

Hi Kelly

Waterside House, Ullswater.  We were there at the BH weekend no EHU but what a fab site, you can pitch beside the lake and there is a lovely walk around the lake into Pooley Bridge where there are a few pubs that do excellent food and also the little cafe that sells fab fish n chips.  We paid extra because we had the gazebo and the kids but i think it is generally about £18 per night.  Check it out on the campsite search.

Wherever you go have a fab time.

Take a look at Croft Holiday Park at Hawkshead, smashing site and just about 30 seconds staggering distance from the village were you will find four pubs and all you will need to survive in a great part of the lakes.
