My hubby asked me this morning if I was looking forward to our week away in August to Sandford Holiday park in Poole.  I'm not sure as I have read some not so good reviews on it.  Has anyone got any comments on it at all, as I am getting a bit worried about it.  There is one particular camp site we went to a few years ago that had it all, and I just wanted to go home when we got there, should I expect this again or has it changed recently?

Please tell

Mel

Hi

We went about three years ago and had a good holiday there. The showers were the problem when we were there but i think they have built a new block and sorted the old one out.Our kids really enjoyed themselves and we did not encounter any of the trouble that is mentioned in some reviews.

Like with most sites it is what you want out of the holiday and not what others do

cheers

steve

Blimey, went there years and years and years ago as a kid and it was a commercialised site even back then.  We preferred Pear Trees which is just a little further down the road and a lovely site.

If you like lots of entertainment and a bussling village like atmosphere then it is fine, if you don't you won't like it.

only ever been there in a static. Have had lots and lot of lovely holidays there. Costs a lot  of money now esp since they built the new amusement arcade, you now have to pass through it to get to the clubs!!!

The out door pools are nice however do get busy and the kiddies padling pool isn't heated and is always freezing, never seems to warm up.

We stopped going to Weststar after 11 continous yrs as we felt they we're losing interest in us as people. We did look round the tent/touring area long before we had the tent and it seemed nice, however don't know if we was looking thru rose tinted glasses. Did think about going back in the tent, but after reading the reviews decided against it.

any spefic questions? and I'll try and answer them,,,, but obviously only about the site in general as I have't stayed on touring.

Thanks for the replies.  We are taking a tent.

We wanted somewhere where the kids wouldn't get bored really, that's the only reason it was picked.

I was hoping to go somewhere quiet but i was outnumbered. Never mind.

Will have a look at Pear Trees for future visits

Thanks again.
