We are looking to go camping for a few days in early July and we fancy somewhere between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, probably quite coastal. It needs to have decentish loos and showers but thats about it. Nearby walks would be a bonus as would a walk to the sea but we have a two year old so nothing too difficult.

I could be asking for the moon on a stick, but if anyone has any ideas I would be grateful! Any positive experiences of campsites in mid wales generally would be welcomed!

Cei Bach is a beautiful site with a sea view.. It's ideal because it's around 30 mins from Aberswyth & 20 mins from Cardigan.. It's in New Quay west wales..

We usually stay in Wern Mills which is around 10 minutes walk from Cei Bach, it's basic with just tolilets & showers & very cheap.

So it depends on what you want Cei bach is quite pricey but lovely & Wern Mills is a lovely basic site( which gets very busy) the owner Brian is a lovely friendly man & very cheap..We go to Wern Mills end of July & can't wait.

I'll second Cei Bach as the site to choose !

We only found it by chance this easter, stayed a week & was lucky enough to re book for Witsun. Had a super week there, weather was great & the site is excellent.

Only small ( about 65 pitches ) on top of Cei Bach beach, approx 30 seconds walk from the site. Once on the beach, when the sea is out, you can walk to New Quay & have an Ice cream or pint or browse the small shops. Really shallow sea, ideal for the kids.

Only down side of the site is no shop. Garage etc nearby & there is a loverly pub on site. Not so much a club house but serves excellent meals, be they a wee bit pricey ! Also has a loverly large veranda with miles of sea views.

I'd highly recommend this site!

There are pebbles when u first get onto the beach but then it's sandy.. If you walk a long  into new Quay you will find a wonderful sandy beach..

Hi

Last year we stayed on Pilbach Caravan Park in Bettws Ifan (about 2 miles inland from Aberporth).  It has a clubhouse and pool (which we weren't bothered about), but they'd just built a new shower block which is out of this world. Men and women have different credit-card thingys that you flash at the door to release the catch, and they have power showers that you just keep - on - pressing..... my five-year-old never wanted to get out!

Apparently the site has different managers now, but I wouldn't have thought much would have changed. They have a website, just google their name.

We're sited down near Narberth now and I really miss those showers - it was part of the holiday for us!
