Does anyone know of any sites that allow open fires and allow flysheets and hammocks. Obviously they would also need some trees.
We have been to Fisherground in Eskdale, that was brill.
Ian.

Hi wanderinstar,

I cant guarantee this but Gibralter Farm at Silverdale Nr Carnforth Lancashire could be the one for you, my brother goes camping there and has camp fires, there are trees and woods around the area, it would be worth a phone call,. It is a beautiful site on a farm, with a huge camping field, a walk down to the beach and cliffs around.

Cheers Shirley

If I'm booking a campsite that says it allows fires I always ring and check since one we arrived at and checked it would be okay as we checked in only to be told they didn't allow them during the summer holidays!
DOH!

They were really nice though, the first day we had our fire down at a beach, but the second day someone had left the site, so they said that we could have a fire over in the area that was now clear - Happy Days!

ps. Have also used Fisherground campsite - it's brilliant. Very well set up we thought. lol my 2 year old son walked with us (and yes he walked all by himself) all the way to the top of the hill behind the site and back down again, we met a family just starting up as we got to the bottom. The look on the mum's face when we confirmed that he had actually just walked all the way up and back again was a picture - she was not impressed that she didn't really have any excuse not to walk all the way up, after all, if a 2 year old could manage it... lol. happy memories.
