We are looking for a suitable camp site in Dorset where we can go with our friends and in total, 3 children aged 4, 4 and 1. We went to Kelling Heath a couple of years back and that was ideal but you do not get very far if you do a search for 'camp site like Kelling Heath in Dorset'!
The things that we liked about Kelling Heath was that the facilities were great and in the evening the camp had a band-stand with entertainment, in the square outside the bar.
So what we want is a camp site with a
Shop
laundry
good toilet and cleaning block
evening entertainment
I am sure that if you have been to Kelling Heath you will know what kind of thing I am after, it is just that I do not know the camp sites of Dorset.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Mark, Unfortunately I cannot recommend a site in Dorset but just wanted to congratulate you on your first post and stop the blue face! Your camping set up looks brilliant, we are going with my OHs Sister and her 2 kids in a few weeks so it has given me a few ideas, expecially the paddling pool.
Sandy balls is the closest thing to Kelling heath I've been to. Maybe a liitle short on the entertainment side. I prefer kelling.......when its not too crowded.
Thanks for the recommendations. Sandy Balls does look good but the way they charge makes it very expensive! To me, that goes against the whole camping ethos.
I am beginning to think that we should just aim for good camp sites on the south coast. We would definitely need good facilities and a laundry but we could cope without the rest. (With 2 kids and one of them still needing a travel cot we will not have room to take a whole weeks worth of clothes!)
So if you know of a
Good camp site
Clean and plentiful toilet facilities
Good washing-up block
Laundry!!!
Shop
then this would probably do.
The other reason for being so picky is that one of the people travelling with us in the other family is not a keen camper but does it for her daughter really. In order to not put her off for ever, a good place is essential and she will want to plug her hair straighteners in the toilet block too!
I went to Kelling Heath years ago, at that time there was little there in the way of entertainment - much akin to Holmesley in the New Forest - not strictly in Dorset either. Bashley park is not very far from Christchurch, they have entertainment etc I think. Going towards Poole there is is Rockley Park, although their touring site gets pretty darned full in the school holidays

Thanks everyone for your help. I have found Manor Farm Holiday Centre in Charmouth which has all the things I would like, including laundry despite what their website says. Looking at the reviews for it on this site it is popular and sounds like it has a nice new club house too.
It is funny you put this one as this is the one that we ended up booking! The reviews were good for this site and apparently they have a new club house. Shower block may be the only let down according to the other reviews, mainly down to the shortage of them.
