we stayed at coldsprings farm in buxton derbyshire last b/h weekend. nice for kids as they had baby lambs in a little pen that the children could feed and pet, the site is tiered so it was easy to keep an eye on the kids the staff were friendly the toilets and showers were very basic, but all new and spotlessly clean, the site is situated on a hill and the views are breathe taking. on the down side, it is just a site... no play area... but lots of room to play, no shop and no pub and as the site is high on the hill it is very exposed we had alot of strong winds. this is a working farm and looks like one, but we would go back as the views were worth the absence of some
of the luxuries!
you can do a search on here and find the details (tel no. ect)

hi!!
you could try lickpenny at matlock - fantastic far reaching views and small playground for kids. toilets are very good and clean.
if you want something a bit cheaper, try newhaven, situated between ashbourne and buxton - gets a bit muddy in the rain but not bad facilities and playground.
oops, just notice you got a tent - lickpenny only take caravans, sorry!!
highfields farm at ashbourne used to be ok but just been taken over by someone else so dont know what it like now.
hope that helps, and welcome to the site!!!
