Hi I'm looking for a campsite in the Padstow area, we have a tent and a small dog. I am not interested in lots of facilities as long as the toilets and showers are clean. Any suggestions ?

                 Thanks K

Keep clear of Mother Ivey's - it's big and expensive. There are quite a number of sites in the area - but in your situation I would be guided by the size of the site.  Dennis Cove is popular and is alongside the Camel estuary and is the nearest one to Padstow - walking distance to town.  Padstow Touring Park - see campsite search UKCS  has fantastic views.

It's a lovely part of the world.  Especially if the weather's good.

We stayed at Trewince Farm last summer. Shower block was spotless . Dogs allowed on site (although we didn't have one so can't comment on dog walk/field or whatever). There is a small outdoor heated pool on site but no clubhouse etc. It's between Wadebridge and Padstow and we'd go there again.    We did leave a review with a bit more info on it and there are several other reviews on here for the site. Might be worth you taking a look at????

Ah, memories.

Stayed on Dennis Cove for at least 4 holidays when I was young free & single - although did have boyfriend/s with me 3 times out of the 4.

Not a clue what it is like now. Sorry.

Stayed on a C & C C holiday site at St Merryn a few years back, on a field by a main site on which we had use of facilities, inc. swimming pool & bar.

Hi Bordercaz

We have done the St Merryn C&CC site, only last year. Its grown and is now two fields but was still very nice. We were on the side that had views over the bay. Well worth the price, and not far from Padstow.

We have often stayed at 'Little Bodieve' campsite just outside Wadebridge - most recently on the last bank holiday. There are more Caravans (tourers) than there used to be but you can usually find a decent space (unless you insist on EHU which will limit possibilities). There is a clubhouse which we didn''t go to but seemed OK with entertainment for the kids if that's your thing, we tend to prefer quiter times outside the tent which are also possible.

Location wise it's about a mile from the Camel Trail in Wadebridge which you can cycle to Padstow on (and it's beautiful) - cycle hire shops abound if you don't take your own. Obviously you can drive to Padstow too :-) The other way is Polzeath which is a surfers cove and next to that Damar Bay which is better for family beach days out unless you like waves.

There's also a small outdoor pool, a bit of a park and decent enough showers/toilets. Also a dog walking field if you need it.

We'll go there again, worth a look.
