Hello everybody!  Just come back from a lovely weekend in Devon and now making plans for our next gettaway!

We are looking to go to the Lake District, pref Windermere (as we are travelling from Somerset).  I have a camping book and looked on varoius sites but not many places accept tents!

Can someone suggest a lovely, quiet (maybe adults only) site that allows tents and a gazebo?

We will be going for about 5 days so lovely showers is a must too!

Sorry for asking for soo much!!!!

Hi, we went to kendal for a weekend, but we got lost first (nothing new there hehe).

The site at windermere looked great, wish we had booked into there instead.  It was the camping and caravanning club site.  Its a new one.  It looked very peaceful with great views, the warden was very friendly.  We had to ask him for directions back to Kendal.

Have a look on here and see if there are any reviews for it, otherwise you could look on the camping and  caravanning site, just with it being so new.  The site isnt in the heart of Windermere, so was more quiet i think.

Hi, I live in Windermere - its a lovely place to live and bring up kids but can get pretty busy in the hols especially around the bank hols. Ashes lane is one site which I think comes under the W'mere banner but is actually nearer kendal and I have heard is a lovely site - you are well away from the clubs and pubs and certainly not in walking distance from W'mere yet near enough for a day trip in.

Which is the site that you refer to Sahara? Was it the Ashes Lane one or another?
