Sorry but cannot recall any sites on that side of the city. As others have said, there is the C&CC club site and the CC site. Assuming you have a caravan or motorhome, I think my choose would be the CC site at the showground, although it is on the other side of the city, a quick dash round the outer bypass (which the site is beside) taking the last east exit, will get you to Thorpe St Andrews in no time at that time of the morning.
The C&CC club site is also not far off the outer bypass and would still be an easy journey to Thorpe, you say they say no, so I assum you mean they are booked.
