Hi All,

I am looking for sites, anywhere in the country, which have either their own facilities for the launching of boats either sea, river or lake), or where there are facilities very near to the site.  Can anyone help with a good list.

thanks

Chris

Hi, there is a C&CC site on Derwent Water by Keswick with its own launch facilities (although we usuallys tay a couple of miles out at Castlerigg Hall where the walks are better direct from site) or try Park Coppice CC site on Coniston which has launching.  I think Falbarrow Park and Hill of Oaks launch onto Windermere.  In Scotland we like Kippford Holiday park - you have a couple of miles to launch and the estuary is VERY tidal but lovely!  I looked at Ardgarten Forestry Commission site but couldn't face the midges - also Loch Linnhe caravan park - a lovely site on Loch Eil but again we were bitten to death!  We stayed at Trethem Mill in Cornwall last year and the Percuil Sailing Club a couple of miles down the road were really helfpful and let us launch the boat for a donation to the RNLI - they have a nominal charge if you want to moore it there and the sailing is absolutely cracking. Enjoy!

Pentewan Sands, near Mevagissey, Cornwall. Own beach with slipway thingy for launching.

But you won't like the site at all..........so P-L-E-A-S-E DON'T GO THERE....EVER

I couldn't even get booked in for this summer! No chance for next if everybody keeps finding out about it

Only 6 weeks and 5 days to Heligan Woods....(Pentewan's sister site with no beach but still lovely), and counting....every bl**dy one of 'em
