Hi,

Thinking of staying at christChurch site this weekend, does anybody know any decent Child friendly pubs in the area, they could recommend. Also are there may attractions for kids nearby?- Cheers.

hello......have a look at the FODDC website for loads of ideas for things to do in the area (mine, who are 12, 10 & 3,  love the Mohair Centre in Longhope - it has an indoor play barn plus lots of outdoor play areas, go karts, sand pit and animals to see etc with picnic areas and walks), for a great 'free' attraction you can walk around Cannop Ponds and feed the ducks, take a picnic they have benches and a little ice cream kiosk, there is also a stream to paddle and loads of space for kids  to let off steam(we often go after sunday lunch!!) -a good cycle track runs from here as well if you have bikes.  As for pubs.....hmmm... The Gamekeeper in Berryhill which is near Christchurch has a playground and a bouncy castle in good weather and is supposed to be nice - The Miners in Sling does good grub and has a small playground as does The Orepool Inn......not sure what you and your kids are 'into' or their ages(let me know and I'll try to be more specific!!)

Hello,
Just got back from a long weekend at Holmsley, which is 10 minutes away from Christchuch. The town was so nice we ended up going every night, did not go to the pubs but there was a good fish and Italian restaurant in town who catered for the kids. We walked along the river during the evening which had a couple of pub/restaraunts with nice outside eating which seemed popular with young families.

As for entertainment you can't beat the forest for letting the kids run free, with the great walks and wildlife there is always plenty to do. We also took a trip to Highcliffe and had a great time on the beach, the shore is shallow and calm which provided hours of fun for our young girls.

Hope this is of some help.

Regards,
