can anyone recommend any nice campsites within walking distance of the waterloo pub/hotel ..as we want to take the tent to the champion of champions (crown green bowls) in september.
we usually stay in a b and b but would like to go in the tent and take the kids.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
The only one I can think off within walking distance is Hampton Road, but they don't take tents.......it's expensive anyway!!!!!!!!! Not much use to you but I can't think of another.

Windy Harbour to the Waterloo pub would take you about 20-25 mins driving (longer in heavy traffic) and god knows how long on a bus, walking would be out of the question due to the distance involved.
Don't bother with windy harbour it is miles away. Because Blackpool is really a built up area the nearest sites which allow tents would be Pippers Heights on Peel Road. To travel from there would take around 10/15 mins by heading back towards the motorway, go straight across the first large roundabout passed B & Q warehouse and turn first left at the large roundabout going down the slip road, you then need to join the road and get into the right hand lane at the next roundabout go straight on...on to Yeadon Way (which was the old railway line) follow this road at the small roundabout go straight on at the next roundabout turn right you will see Aldi on your left pass it and turn left at roundabout and join right hand lane turning right into Waterloo Road....and you will see the pub....The above may seem long but it is the quickest route and you could park at the pub or over the other side of the traffic light as there is no residents parking in that part. I do hope this helps.
thanks kirty but we really need a site within walking distance of the waterloo as we only go to blackpool once a year for the champion of champions (crown green bowls) and we tend to get slightly worse for wear before we go off and sample the night life!!!! so anywhere farther than a fiver taxi fare is out of the question...we normally stay at the manchester house hotel which is fine but we fancied making use of the tent.
