Any one know a stop off just off the M6 near Birmingham. Will be arriving round about 9pm this Thursday.

Not posative, but pretty sure there will be sites at Cannock Chase, which is close to the M6/B'ham junction.

Have a look at the Kingsbury water park site, easy to get to from M6 (down toll rd). It is about 1 mile from J9  M42.
