Hi,

I havent stayed there myself , but visited the park next door last August. It depends what you want out of your holiday, if its a big park with all the facilities, including a clubhouse with entertainment, pool etc then this is the place for you.

If , however, you prefer the quieter life, I would recommend Leadstone Campsite(which I think you can find on the campsite search facility).

Either way Dawlish (and Dawlish Warren) is great Im sure you will have a good time wherever you go....you have to try had not to in this area......

Pehaps yo can be the first to enter a review of this site? i didnt as I havent stayed there and didnt feel qualified to comment - which to me is testament to the qualifty of review that this website maintains(I notice it had a mention in Practical Caravan recently!!!!!!)

We have stayed at Lady's Mile a few times although it was in a static caravan which were always imaculate.   The site and pool are always clean.  It is a fairly quiet park with basic entertainment no childrens clubs etc.  The area is great, we had a few nice days out to paignton zoo, powderham castle etc. The takeaway wasn't great. The onsite shop has the basic essentials but there are shops not to far away.  Our last stay in October 2005 was a bit dissappointing as the indoor pool was quite cold - kids lips eventually went blue and when we complained we didn't get much of a response and the childrens park was being painted on a Saturday Morning which could have been left until maybe Sunday afternoon or midweek when it was a bit quieter but previous to that we never had a problem.  We would go again.

Shelly, you won't be able to put a review on as the owners made the website bods remove all the reviews that had been submitted (I was one who had put one on) and won't allow reviews any more. But if you want people's views then do a search under "Ladysmile" or "Ladys Mile" in this forum and you should be able to read some of the comments people who have stayed on the site have made away from the Camp Sites Review section since the ban was imposed.

I leave you work out why the owners wanted the reviews removed!!!!!!!! Of course some people like that site. I'm not one of them!

hi icmphillips (shelly)

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=ladys+mile&by=sitename at dawlish have returned from here 8/7/06 we have had 2 brill weeks here. the site was lovely and clean, shop had good selection of stock , pools clean and warm loved this site . yes reviews have been taken of but do not let this put you off.some of the reviews said about the play area maybe then it wasnt up to scratch but believe me it is now and its fab although some parents just send the kids up the play area alone (sorry not me) accidents will happen, play area is all on play sand and 2 guys clean it 2-3 times daily along with the rest of the park.

there are 4 fields and a small secluded area, we pitched in the meadow because it was central for everything but to be honest you can pitch where the hell you like as long as your in the pitch lines.

this was the second time this year we have been and looking to go back in september. will get hubby to get photos of the camera and post them on my gallery  pics.

 have a brill time.

if ya got space in ya case pack me in to.

mrs p

It sounds as though things have improved there MrsP. That's good news as the site had great potential but was poorly maintained and staff had a very "couldn't care less" attitude - but that was four or five years ago now. As  I have suggested before, it's a shame the site owners are still blocking reviews of their site as it does seem as though measures have been taken to improve things greatly. I  can understand them asking for the old ones to be removed as they were pretty duff reviews but if things are better now then why not allow new reviews on? If they now have confidence in their site, and I've read nothing to the contrary on here this year so far, then surely it would be sensible as I for one would avoid a site that didn't allow reviews on here as it looks as though they've something to hide. Perhaps the next UKCS member staying there could put  this to the management?

Spent my youth always staying at Lady's Mile.  Of course back then it only had the take away and a small kiddy play area, but i used to think it was great.  Have been trying to go back but they always seem to be full, we always pitched up on the furthest side of the park halfway up the hill, had a great view of the park then!
