Can anybody out there please help We are due to travel over from Northern Ireland around the 14th July 2006 and are looking for recommendations for a good Touring caravan site in the Lake District and one near Stranraer Any advice would be most appreciated 

Loads in the Lake district too many to reccomend but i would highly reccomend Castle cary campsite at creetown on the A 75 from stranraer, real nice site.

We have just come back from an Excellent Camping and Caravan Park called

Stanwix Holiday Park in Silloth, not far from Carlisle and just up above the Lake District.  Facilities were excellent and the kids had a ball. Try this one you will be impressed.

Yet again I agree with you there. We were there on Monday and Tuesday and we had a great time and will definitely return.

Another site we went to last year was Park Foot at Pooley Bridge near Penrith. It`s right on Lake Ullswater and we enjoyed it so much we are going back there a week this Monday for 6 nights. Both sites are reviewed on here and both excellent sites.
