Just came back from Perran Springs in Cornwall, stayed there for 4 days, and going back again this summer - cant wait :)

I went for a fishing holiday and am just writing to let people know they have now opened up a new fishing lake, so there are 3 lakes in total. The new lake is the biggest lake, and has a number of specimen carp, and are in great condition.

So if anyone is into a family fishing holiday I recommend they look at the perran springs website and the fishing section.

Or read the reviews here:

Caught loads between 10-15lbs

Going back in the summer to get the 20lb+ i keep seeing.

Oh, and to rub it in further, the weather was great & the holiday park was great too  :)

hippy chick - If your into fishing, have you been to Perran Springs before?

Ive been there a few times now, and am addicted to the fishing lakes :)
Good thing is the lakes are on the site, so only a few yards from the tent/caravan :)

Nope, never been to Perran Springs although we did stay at Perran Sands one year. While both hubby and I are into fishing as is our son, (25), my son and I have never been able to convert hubby to coarse fishing! He'll stick only stick to his sea fishing I'm afraid which means that I am limited to purely sea fishing, (which I love anyway, but at least coarse fishing is possible while we're back home as the nearest bit of sea fishing we can get is Southend 25 miles away and even then it's only really from the pier between October and May!

Hubby often goes out boat fishing, but that's not suitable for me for various reasons, (one of 'em being I can't wee over the side Why do sea fishing boats hardly ever have a loo on 'em?), and since my son moved down to Dorset two years ago, I've even lost me coarse fishing buddy!

This is the main reason we love staying at Pentewan Sands coz of it having it's own beach and we can fish from either end of it where the rocks are. Wish we'd managed to book earlier this year......never mind, Heligan Woods is a lovely site too and we still get free use of everything at Pentewan if we want. Just means I can't fall out of bed and onto the beach though without having to do the five minute drive first and that just aint the same.

Only 5 weeks and 1 day to Heligan Woods and counting...every bl**dy one of 'em
