If you can do it take your holiday Wed to Wed. We travel from Newcasle-under-Lyme to Pentewan setting off at about 4am. (This gives us at least some sleep) Get past B'ham (M6/5) before rush hour, pit stop at Strensham services then on to Exeter services and onward to Pentewan hopefully arriving by 12 and driving straight onto the pitch. The AA routefinder says 282.9 miles taking 5 hours 24 mins so add on 1.5 hours for pit stops hopefully will be about right.
