I'm taking some friends who live in St. Albans away camping next month and one of them hasn't been camping for years after some trauma whilst camping as a kid involving a dead baboon turning the water supply bad!!
I want to find a campsite that's fairly quiet, but at the same time has sparkling toilets and showers so that this weekend isn't too traumatic! I guess anything within anything like a 60 miles radius would be really helpful.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Cheers.......Neil

I can recommend Brighthouse Farm in Suffolk, between Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds. We went two weeks ago for a long weekend as camping virgins and loved every minute of it.
You get to choose where you want to pitch, the toilets/showers are sparkling, a large indoor area to do the dishes and the owners is not standing with his hand out waiting for payment when you are trying to put the tent up - he catches up with you during your stay.
Also a couple of nice pubs within a 3-5 minutes drive.
