Just wondering if anyone has a favourite quiet-ish campsite (preferably as near a beach as possible) anywhere in cornwall? Not just posting this through sheer laziness (!): have had a look through the campsite directory and would prefer a less family-orientated site - most of those listed and reviewed seem to be aimed at families with kids. Not esp worried about facilities (basic is fine!) - as very recent ex-students price is probably our main concern..!
Any recommendations/suggestions/advice for newbie campers gratefully received! Thanks!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Boscrege near Helston, about 2 miles from Praa beach.
In a small village - about a mile from the pub (nice walk), walks from site. Surrounded by countryside with walks from the site.
Just came back after having a week in a static there with Oldies and teenagers, camped there last week with a 15 year old lad and was worried about it being to quiet but he enjoyed it.
One of my faves is a tiny site near to Praa Sands (5 minutes walk down a lane and past the pub then a fab and beautiful beach).
Its called Lower Pentreath. only 15 pitches and 3 statics. immac clean shower/loo block although small. Chem disp point. Ice block frezing service. Sinks for wasjing up and one for laundry. Beatiful tiny site. Very quiet. We have been the only ones there with kids when we have been in August. We're not going this year cos we're going on the UKCS meet instead. I'm sure my reveiw of it is one here - do a search under campsite to see. Cheap as well.
The owner are so friendly and helpful too. Cant recommend this site highly enough.
Penhaven touring park, near Pentewan is flat, spacious and quiet, it is only 1 mile walk through woods to Pentewan sands. Check if booking that swimming pool (very small) is open, we went last week and it was out of action. Nice site though, and reasonably priced at £12.50 per night.
