Does anyone remember the Blue Waters Holiday Park in Weymouth? I spent all my childhood holidays there and I can't find any trace of it, after much searching on the internet! Does anyone know what's happened to it? I'm planning to visit the area this summer, sentimental visit as I'm 40 this year!

Did it by any chance become Seaview a haven site?

Whereabouts in Weymouth was it? It certainly doesn't seem to exist now. Perhaps it's name changed or was amalgamated with/expanded into another site next to it? I have only found one reference to it on the internet - on a coastal walks site there's a reference to Littlesea and Blue Waters parks. Perhaps the two have merged? I think Littlesea is a Haven site so no doubt it's pretty big and could possibly have been more than one site originally?

Seaview is just up the coastal path from Littlesea.

Think you guys might be right about it being a Haven site now. I'm gonna get directions from my parents, but they were a bit foggy about them last time I asked!!! I seem to remember you could see Portland bill from the kids playground, if that's any help?

hi its definately now a haven site I too spent several summers there. Its next to chesil Beach and the road continues to portland. half way along the bridge is the ferryman pub with old penny games to play on the walls with bal bearings....
those were the days....
the park overlooked a very safe inlet for the kiddies to play in.

have just had a quick look at the Haven website. Seem to be 3 parks in Weymouth. Weymouth Bay and Seaview are on the Preston side of Weymouth which is East of the town (towards Bournemouth/Southampton) whereas Littlesea is West of the town which would make it poss to see Portland Bill lighthouse from it. From the description given by Dawn above I would guess that she is talking about Littlesea too so I think there's a good chance that it's that one. You head for Portland from Weymouth to get there.

I haven't got any pics of the site, my parents weren't great photographers.... but I will be taking some when  I go.... If you check out my website www.blobgoesto.com  you'll see I'm a bit of a photo nut, and a bit of a travel fiend too! I think the Littlesea Haven site is probably it. Will let you know if it is the right site, thanks everybody for your help!!!

Wow this is a blast from the past. I've just found this site because I was trying to find details of the old "Blue Waters" caravan site near Weymouth. For anyone interested (providing someone is still reading this thread) the site is now called Chesil Vista and has obviously been improved and updated considerably since I was last there (late 70's) - I seem to think that Blue Waters was owned by Ladbrookes for some reason although I can't think why they would have owned it.
I went there 4 times with my parents in the late 70's. Good times indeed....I am 51 now and still remember those holidays with fond memories. We used to travel down by coach (changing coaches at Cheltenham) although the last time we went I am sure we went by train.....from Lincoln (where I lived back then) and changing at Derby. I was only thinking of those holidays a few days ago when I found an autograph book I had back then and some of the artists that appeared in the site club had signed it for me.....I do recall seeing Michael Barrymore there before he got known on TV (and way before any incidents with swimming pools!)
