well we survived our first camping trip!!!! we went to Mortonhall in Edinburgh (thanks alot to Bcam for the suggestion!!) had a really great time! weather was GORGEOUS!!!! (rare for scotland!lol) soo hot and sunny!!! really liked Mortonhall, the facilities were great..toilets and showers spotlessly clean, a hairdryer (woo hoo!!lol) lovely little pub and shop on site..nice walks in the surrounding area (made friends with a lovely horse i wanted to bring home!lol) and had an overall good weekend

oh and i was soo worried about insects and midges..but i only got bitten once on the first night and that was because i missed a spot with the insect repellant!

will definitely be leaving good reviews for the mortonhall site and hope to be off camping again soon to one of the other suggested sites! (i like the sound of Drum mohr so might go there next!)

lancsguy: i'd never realised that about the pubs in rutherglen main street..i think they are still all on one side of the road! although i suppose it depends if you count the millcroft pub (it used to have a different name i think) which is kind of on the main street..but kind of on mill street..on the other side of the road but at the very very start of the main street so im not sure if that counts!

ewww square sausage!!! i dont like it!! maybe you need to be born and bred here to be a square sausage muncher!lol

thanks again for everyones advice!
