Not been to Ad Astra, but we were in Anglesey last weekend. We stay at Tyddyn Isaf near Moelfre which is lovely.
The Sea Zoo is ok for a day out and if you are down that way then Foel Farm is nice - there is an indoor feeding barn, tractor rides, small cafe, more than enough to fill a long morning. Also near there is PLas Newydd - a National trust house on the Menai Straits which has a great adventure playground in the woods, I don't think you have to pay to park either.
Henblas is an adventure type place combined with a farm too, I seem to think it has indoor stuff.
Pili Palas (a butterfly house) is good, the butterflies will come and land on you, there is a small park outside and picnic benches for lunch.
Hope that helps, if I think of anywhere else I'll post!

Stayed at Kingsbridge Campsite near Beaumaris in May and have just booked again at same place for August Bank Hols. Had not been to Anglesey since I was a kid. As I have a three year old daughter and we were worried about the unstable weather, I bought the book "The Rough Guide to Wales". It cost £10.99 and is brilliant. It even includes street maps of some of the towns. (Have since bought "The Rough Guide to Cornwall" for recent stay at Gwithan Farm near Hayle).
The book has LOADS of info about Anglesey, as well as the rest of Wales. It gives info on all the places to visit, the opening times and if there is a cost, it warns you in advance. It also gives details of places to eat (including how much you can expect to spend on the meal), as well of loads of other top tips.
Best time we spent was searching the rock pools at Benllech, that was free!! There is a little cafe on the front that does good food too.
Hope you have a good time.
Pauline
